After studying this section you should be able to:

  • interpret graphs used to represent motion, and understand the physical significance of the gradient and the area between the curve and the time axis
  • apply the equations that describe motion with uniform acceleration
  • analyse the motion of a projectile

The term ‘curve’ means the line drawn on the graph to show the relationship between the quantities. It could be straight or curved.
