Advanced apprenticeships

This is a four-year programme leading to an NVQ (Level 3).

To apply for this scheme, you´ll need a minimum of four GCSEs Grade C (and above) in Maths, English Language, a relevant Science, plus one other subject. Not to be confused with opportunities at dealerships, these apprenticeships are with Land Rover, the Manufacturing company and operate from locations in Birmingham, Coventry and Warwickshire, so it is important you are flexible about workplace location.

You will spend the first nine months at City College in Tile Hill, Coventry where you´ll complete an NVQ (Level 2) in Performing Engineering Operations. At the end of the nine months, you will start work at one of the company sites, continuing the 2nd year of your National Certificate studies on a day-release basis and starting your NVQ Level 3 studies.

Successful students will progress onto a Higher National Certificate in Engineering, which will take two years to complete. Depending on your abilities, there may also be opportunities in future to progress onto a degree course.

• A ´Key Skills´ programme, covering topics such as Application of Number, Communications and IT.
