The RAF have offer a range of generous sponsorship schemes for people looking to join.
Sixth form scholarships: There are scholarships of up to £2,000 for people in Year 13 who want to join the RAF in one of our officer careers.
Defence Sixth Form College: You could apply to the Defence Sixth Form College at Welbeck. In addition to your A-level studies, you’d take part in a full range of sport, social and leadership activities to prepare you for life as an Engineer, Medical or Dental Officer.
The college is heavily subsidised so this would be at little or no cost.
Engineering sponsorship: Each year we sponsor 50 people to study for an engineering degree, and to receive a range of personal development training, with a view to joining the RAF as Engineer Officers. If you are accepted, we could pay you over £15,000 during your studies. Or you could earn more than £12,000 for a work experience year.
Medical and dental sponsorship: If you would like to join the RAF as a Medical or Dental Officer, we could sponsor you through university. As a medical student, you can receive over £50,000; dental students can receive nearly £30,000.
University sponsorship: For many other officer jobs, we may be able to sponsor you for your degree before you join the RAF. Undergraduate sponsorship can be worth up to £4,000 a year. Payments are generally grants, not loans, and you are free to use the money as you need. We do expect a commitment from you in return.
